The Bauls of Bangladesh: a study of an obscure religious cult

Abstract

Bangladesh has number of obscure religious cults developed under the ferment of different major religions. Their practices are often kept secret because of their belief and hence their obscurity. these obscure religious cults serve as a positive source to the understanding of the total culture of the people. The Bauls of Bangladesh form the most dominant aspect in the socio-religious activities of the country.
