dc.description.abstractThis premium edition which is a part of our new palmtop series of publications covers the Penal Code, 1860 (Act No. XLV of 1860). It has been designed as a handy aid for lawyers, judges, public prosecutors, police officers and police trainees, legislators, scholars, teachers and other interested citizens. The general law on crime prevention and punishment is embodied in the Penal Code, 1860 (Act No. XLV of 1860). The assertion of substantive rights can only be established by evidence which makes the law of evidence occupy a pivotal role in the effective functioning of the criminal justice system.
